on my MY YAHOO! page, i have a little recipe blurb. just now when i checked it out, it said this:
Mussels with Tomato Broth Bittersweet citrus makes this decadent dessert irresistible.

shorn

i am so sick/tired/bored with my hair that i am getting dangerously close to cutting all my hair off, ala fussy, then just basically letting it all grow out again (although don't expect me to post daily photos of the growing out part).

things that keep my from doing it:
  • i might look like a little boy
  • my ears will be cold
  • more frequent trims required-for which i have neither the time or the money.

any of my 5 readers feel like giving their opinion?

here kitty, kitty

another bit about my old home town. what IS it about palo alto and wild cats?

bump, grind, repeat

how come they didn't have career day talks like this when i was a student there?

drooling

so my nephew got an ipod for his 17th birthday recently and believe it or not, i hadn't yet seen one in person. i'm now in love with it and i'm officially jealous because I WANT ONE TOO.

this little number looks a little more do-able because of the price but maybe i'll compromise with myself and ask for an ipod mini for THE BIG 40 coming up in may...??? anyone? anyone?

cars that go boom

i don't get to crank the tunes much in my car anymore because i'm barely in it with out one child or another or both.

however, the other day i got in ALONE for the short (1, maybe 2 minutes) drive to dan and whits to get the sunday NYT (yeah, i could have walked, but i had just finished a run, was sweaty and didn't want to get chilled. yeah, i know. shut up). so i of course cranked the volume on the 2004 new years eve dance mix and when i got to d&ws, happened to step out of the car before the music got turned off (not really sure how that happened-maybe i just opened the door before i turned off the engine?). damn, our car stereo is loud and obnoxius. even more so because of the big bass beat of the particular song to which i was listening. the guy we bought it from got the deluxe stereo with 6 (maybe 8?) speakers and pre-amp, so the sound really resonates through all the doors to the outside world.

and, let me tell you, nothing says hip like a dirty subaru legacy outback blasting funk in the parking lot of a general store in a small new england town.

ridin' in the back, sunroof top, diggin' the scene sitting in the car seat

if we weren't on a tight, tight budget (did i mention that it's tight?) right now, i would totally be dropping some cash on a couple of these car seat covers for my girls.

get on top

i'm a regular reader of the gawker stalker. partly because i'm a total gossip ho and partly because you can unearth entertaining little nuggets like this one:

"A frumpy, dressed down Monica Lewinsky picking up her order at an otherwise empty Pop Burger in Chelsea Monday afternoon. Not really all that notable, except that the song that came over the PA just as I noticed it was her was “Cream” by Prince. I was standing right next to her when it got to the, “You’ve got the horn so why don’t you blow it,” part, but didn’t detect any kind of reaction. I, however, busted a gut on the inside."
