jumping on the bandwagon (with pointy sticks)

since i re-learned how to knit about 4 years ago, the only things i've finished for myself have been scarves. they are nice, but i want to do something else. and finish it. i've made mittens, socks and even a little silk gift bag for a few other folks and managed to finish those projects...but i have 2 pairs of socks for myself that i started but can't manage to finish. don't ask me why, because i don't know.

so what to do? start another pair of socks...and join a knit along for the sock pattern i've been wanting to try.

so i'm making these socks in this yarn (color: buck's bar) and i will be posting progress pictures and reports and i will finish them, by god, by feb 13th, so i can possibly win six skeins of this yarn, with which to make more socks.

am i nuts or what? i still have 1 1/2 christmas presents to finish! i'm looking at this as keeping me from going insane as well doing something for myself.

first set of pictures tomorrow. so far, i've got about 1/2 inch of ribbing done. looking forward to getting into the stitch pattern portion of the sock because knitting ribbing is B.O.R.I.N.G.
